CBD Oil For Psoriasis: How It Can Provide You With Relief

0

Psoriasis can cause great discomfort and self-esteem issues, mental health problems and a loss of confidence. Others may suffer from embarrassment, so concerned with hiding their condition that they may even stop leaving the house

Yet as we all know, the biggest problem is that it’s notoriously difficult to treat. There is no cure for it yet, and a lot of prescribed drugs aren’t effective, which can leave sufferers tearing their hair out in frustration. Flare-ups appear at random times and life gets tough.

There is a light at the end of the tunnel, though. CBD oil has been hailed as a bit of a wonder drug for a variety of ailments, from anxiety and insomnia to cancer – and yes, even psoriasis. In this article, we take a closer look at how it can treat the disease and provide sufferers with an improved quality of life.

Psoriasis Explained

Psoriasis is a debilitating, autoimmune skin condition that has the appearance of red patches on the skin that is typically covered with silvery scales. Sufferers tend to find that it appears on their:

  • Lower back
  • Scalp
  • Knees
  • Elbows

It can also appear in other areas of the body.

The patches are quite often small but, when clumped together, they give the appearance of something much bigger. Moreover, they’re often sore and can itch.

Psoriasis varies in severity from individual to individual. Some won’t be too bothered by it (and may barely notice it if, for example, it’s located on their back) but for others, it can be so cumbersome that it causes huge distress. Not just that, but it is a chronic disease that can produce breakouts during which symptoms grow in severity.

Understanding Why Psoriasis Happens

It’s upsetting when psoriasis begins to appear on your skin, and sufferers are often left wondering “why me?”

Moreover, why does it look and feel like it does? And how is it caused?

Those who struggle with it have a greater production of skin cells than most other people. An average person tends to produce new skin cells once a month. Conversely, an individual suffering from psoriasis will see their skin cell production soar to the point where they’re producing new skin cells every week

When there are too many skin cells in one place, patches begin to form – the first signs of psoriasis. But why do they appear so rapidly?

Unfortunately, the process still isn’t fully understood, but research has found that the immune system which is meant to protect us is at the heart of matters.

How did that happen?!

Your immune system is your body’s first line of defense against attack from foreign invaders – viruses and bacteria – as well as illness. It’s there to protect your body and look after you so that you’re in tip-top shape.

Sometimes, however, it goes haywire and works against you. In a person with psoriasis, the immune system causes inflammation and double downs on the production of new skin cells.

As psoriasis.org points out, a normal immune system is able to protect the individual against an attack by eliminating foreign proteins, viruses and bacteria. When an individual has the condition, however, their immune system doesn’t work properly and instead engages in “friendly fire.”

Then, new skin cells are rolled out too quickly, with inflammation resulting.

Why Other Drugs Haven’t Worked

Psoriasis isn’t contagious and flare-ups are usually linked to changes in the environment and stress. There is no known cure – and the drugs that are available aren’t always effective. Even when the condition is mild, doctors recommend taking more than one type of drug to ease your symptoms, or to keep switching treatments until you find one that works for you. Not exactly great news.

One of the problems with attempts to control it with certain medications is that the cause is still relatively misunderstood. While there are links between a misfiring immune system and psoriasis, research is still ongoing into how the process works.

As such, pharmaceutical companies have been producing biologic and systemic drugs that target specific immune cells, so as to modify (or block) its response. Methotrexate is one such drug that targets the immune system, but it also impacts other systems in the body as well, thus rendering it underwhelming as a treatment.

How CBD Oil Can Treat Psoriasis

Numerous studies have shown that CBD can treat the condition. There are a few reasons for this. One is that cannabidiol has been proven to put the breaks on T-cell production – which is a key element in stopping it.

Psoriasis is often known as the “T-cell mediated disease,” at least in medical circles. This is because the type of immune system cells that play a key role in the formation of psoriasis are called T-cells. These cells circulate naturally through your system, actively on the lookout for foreign invaders. When the invader (or virus) is established, it activates the T-cell, which then sends the immune system spiralling into overdrive in an individual with psoriasis.

Secondly, because cannabidiol puts the breaks on T-cell production, it effectively suppresses the immune system and its memory, which then gives the oil the chance to prevent autoimmune attacks from occurring again. In other words, CBD stops your system from attacking itself. Thus, new skin production is slowed to once a month. Yay.

The oil is also anti-inflammatory and helps your body to produce more endocannabinoid’s. Your skin relies on an adequate amount of endocannabinoid receptors to provide therapeutic effects. When your body doesn’t produce enough of them, skin ailments such as psoriasis are able to rear their ugly heads.

Researcher and professor Emerita of Hebrew University Ruth Gallily says that hemp “in the right hands … it could really help a lot of people.”

Benefits of CBD Oil For Those With Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a debilitating skin condition and chronic disease that can leave the sufferer in pain. Fortunately, there are a variety of benefits that CBD brings with it. Here are some:

Reduces Itching

Ask anyone who’s suffering from a terrible itch, and they’ll liken it to terrible pain. Psoriasis sufferers have a lot to deal with because, when we itch, it’s the skin cells nearest to our skin that become irritated.

And as we’ve learned, psoriasis sufferers have a lot more skin cells than your average person.

To help you through the living hell of itching, consider turning to CBD products. The cannabinoids have been researched for their effects on itching, with a recent review concluding that they have a role to play in dermatology treatments. Indeed, creams containing chemicals that impact cannabinoid type-1 receptors can minimize itching in patients with the likes of lichen simplex and prurigo (lesions and scarring which can be a result of excessive scratching).

More research published in the British Journal of Dermatology has also demonstrated that it can help with itching.

Controls Pain

The pain commonly associated with the disease can make your skin crawl. One of the reasons the skin condition is so painful at times is that nerve endings are being blocked, resulting in pain and discomfort. They can whip your skin into a frenzy.

Other reasons psoriasis might cause pain include dry skin. If your skin is already dry, or if it’s inflamed, those red patches will get sore.

CBD oil has already been studied extensively and proven to help with chronic pain. It’s used by individuals who have arthritis and multiple sclerosis, as well as psoriasis.

However, it’s worth pointing out that, while CBD oil can certainly reduce pain and discomfort during a breakout, other studies have shown that it’s often better to take additional measures with the oil to be the most effective against the pain.

Here are some tips to help you minimize psoriasis pain:

  • Apply lotions – Lotions with glycolic or lactic acids can soften your scales, breaking up dead skin cells and relieving pain. Apply at night, cover with a plastic wrap, take your CBD oil and get some rest
  • Apply a cold pack – Applying cold packs to the affected areas can limit pain and itching by tricking your brain into thinking the area is no longer painful or itchy. Instead, it’s just very cold
  • Have a bath – If you’re a shower person, it’s time to get back in the tub. Fill your bath up with water and Epsom salts and get in for at least 15 minutes. This should ease the pain and the itch

Slows Down Cell Growth

As mentioned, the prime reason psoriasis occurs is because the body’s skin cell production has gone rogue. New skin cells are produced too fast, and this causes painful, itchy rashes to appear on the skin.

Research has shown that cannabinoids can contribute to the way cells are made and die. They can control cell production, tolerance, proliferation and death. Reports have confirmed that this role taken on by the cannabinoids present in CBD are able to prevent the development of psoriasis and other skin ailments, such as acne and eczema.

Moreover, the oil is anti-inflammatory, which is important to note. When an individual is suffering from psoriasis, the rapid-fire rate at which skin cells are produced causes skin tissue breakage, pain and itchiness. Reviews have demonstrated that CBD can treat inflammatory diseases like this one thanks to the fact that it enjoins the CB2 receptor to assert its biochemical action on the individual’s immune system.

Softens and Conditions The Skin

Because it contains omega 3 and 6 fatty acids, hemp oil can condition and soften skin affected by psoriasis. In this way, it acts as a moisturizer that can moisturize dry skin. As mentioned, dry skin is one of the reasons it becomes so irritated and painful.

Heals Wounds

Even when the pain, soreness and redness has gone away, you’re still left with scars and wounds.

The good news is that hemp oil can even help clear up wounds. It can instigate the healing process for wounds that are still cracked and bleeding.

Studies in mice in 2016 showed the link between cannabinoid receptors and wound repair, while certain anti-inflammatory agents found in the oil are able to accelerate the healing process, too.

It’s also anticipated that future CBD products can treat open sores caused by psoriasis as well.

Treats Anxiety

As a bonus, CBD also helps with anxiety and stress. Individuals suffering from psoriasis are prone to depression and anxiety. Because depression, anxiety and stress are known causes of a flare-up, it’s a vicious cycle.

CBD oil and anxiety has been extensively researched and the news is good: CBD is able to restore calm and peace of mind to the individual by interacting with CB1 and CB2 receptors – a pair of receptors found in your central nervous system that, once impacted by CBD, modify serotonin signals.

Serotonin is otherwise known as the “happy chemical” and it plays a key role in your mental health. When an individual has low levels of serotonin, anxiety, depression and a general gloom can set in.

Many people are now managing their anxiety and depression with hemp, which brings positive news to those suffering from psoriasis.

How To Treat Psoriasis With CBD Oil

There are, of course, a few different types of CBD products available to purchase, ranging from vaporizers to oils and balms. This means you can take the oil topically or orally.

In most cases, it’s generally accepted that oils, lotions and balms applied topically provide the best pain relief to skin damaged by psoriasis. However you decide to take the oil, it’s important to note that its effects will vary according to the quality of the oil in question, as well as the dosage.

That said, you can also take CBD orally and see great results. By doing this, you’re also targeting the skin and your immune system.

Alternatively, and if your budget allows, you could also take CBD both orally and topically with tinctures and balms.

It’s a smart idea to go for full-spectrum CBD oils that are 100% natural and organic, and to do your research before making a purchase.

Conclusion

If you’re currently struggling with a psoriasis flare-up, or if you have psoriasis and are expecting a flare-up again soon, you must look after your skin. Your skin is your most visible organ. It’s delicate and it needs tender love and care.

While looking after and controlling your psoriasis with CBD oil is highly recommended, you should take the time to treat your skin in other ways, too. Nurture your skin with balms and natural butters, take warm baths infused with gentle soaps, and when you do take showers, use all-natural gels that will help to balance the pH level of your skin.

CBD & SEX

0

Some regard cannabidiol, CBD as everyone knows it, as a panacea. While CBD is a fantastic remedy for various forms of anxiety and pain, it’s touted uses can be overblown at times. I overheard a conversation on the subway recently where someone was suggesting to the person they had on the phone to screw their chemotherapy and just take CBD. Yeah, no.

However, you may have recently stumbled upon something like Infinite CBD Big Bang Lubricant here on the Dr.Ganja site which leads to the question:

Is CBD good for sex?

Yes, it is. It is conducive to a much better sexual experience. But, let’s get the “negative” out of the way, if you can even call it that.

Is CBD an aphrodisiac?

No.
CBD is not an aphrodisiac; not in the same way that THC is, which can accentuate and heighten physical sensations and stimuli to literally cause sex to feel better. Just like most things though, there is a definite range that you must hit for it to be effective, else you do too much and become a slobbering food vacuum for a few hours, or on the other end of the spectrum, feel nothing.

And now on to the positive:

Can CBD make sex better?

Yes it can.
Much like its use for the common symptoms like anxiety, CBD can help with stress or pain one might incur from getting down and dirty, or even from the thought of doing such. There are millions, even within the U.S., that suffer from performance anxiety. So in this sense CBD can definitely help, although it’s worthy to note that the CBD should be taken a bit before you’re ready to get frisky.

CBD can also help with any inflammation or pain you may suffer from a sultry night out. Hence the aforementioned Big Bang Lubricant, which was made not only to help balance a woman’s pH in their… erogenous zones, but also to combat any swelling and/or redness that may occur on either parties. For partners on the “receiving” end, CBD can additionally help with any pain that might occur with any sort of penetration.

CBD, to me, has always been about regulation. Anxiety throwing your body or mind out of whack? CBD will help normalize you. Pain and inflammation pestering you late at night? CBD’s got your back, quite literally, in getting you back to baseline. The same goes in the bedroom.

So if you’re seeking something that will give you a little extra “boost”, by causing an altered state of mind or truly making things feel better, THC or marijuana should be your go-to. If you want the best of both worlds, making you an inflammation and anxiety-killing horndog or hornmuffin that considers anything that moves, try a 1:1 THC to CBD ratio product.

It’s also worthy to note that that some of the flower we carry on the site can cause very slight psychoactive effects if consumed in high enough quantities, and this can cause a bit of the boost that you were seeking. If I were to personally recommend anything on the site to get you going, it could be our hemp flower as it’s intrinsically full-spectrum and contains just a fraction of THC with a healthy dose of CBD. And of course, our CBD lubricant.

With all that being said, if you’re effected by “performance” anxiety with that special someone, or even that fine specimen you found at the bar, CBD is perfect. And if, after, your skin is feeling a little roughed up, then CBD is again perfect. Controlling inflammation allows you to keep coming back for more, again and again.

The Health Benefits Of CBD

0

Everyone wants to heal, right? I mean, being unhealthy and sick kind of sucks. Luckily, CBD is becoming increasingly popular as a medicine. People everywhere are using it for healing, literally. It’s crazy because even doctors are using it and it’s working!

Who would have ever thought that hemp would cure our problems? Well, those in South America sure thought it would. To people in other countries, plants are like teachers that can help us and heal us. Personally, I always knew plant medicine existed in places like South America because you hear of the crazies doing Ayahuasca as an ancient practice, but I never thought it’d actually work. Yet, I gave it a try and became a crazy myself and wow! They were absolutely spot on. Yet, hemp isn’t a plant medicine like Ayahuasca, is it? Wrong! It is and I know from personal experience. So, here’s a step – by – step instruction on how you can use hemp as a plant medicine.

1. Ask your body what you need before you take hemp.

Most times, we take CBD to feel good or to heal our pain or we just want to take it because..well, who knows why! I found that asking my body what I needs helps with healing. I mean, if you are breathing so is your liver and your kidney and they probably want to hang out with this plant medicine, too. So, don’t leave your body’s opinion out – ask what your body needs..literally. Go for it – have a conversation with your internal organs! Then, take your CBD and breathe with it and just take it slow for a second. There’s no need to rush off, if you’re trying to relax or heal, right? It will be a lot stronger this way, anyways.

2. Set an intention for healing.

So, your body has life, but so does the plant because it’s the teacher, right? I mean, obviously people have trips all of the time and that doesn’t just come from something that grows in the garden. So, talk to the plant because the plant is breathing, too and it only wants to help, and don’t forget that the plant can actually hear you, which is a bit spooky, but totally true. I have found that meditating before I take CBD helps me set an intention for the plant and for my body, making everything way more beneficial. It doesn’t hurt to give it a try, too! So go for it – close your eyes.

3. Take CBD and Breathe it in.

Obviously, we aren’t going to sit all day with  unless we are extremely devoted, but we really don’t have to! It really only needs to take a minute or two. So, just try and sit with the plant for a minute or two and allow it in! Luckily, here at Dr. Ganja, all of our products are of the highest quality, so you don’t need to worry about anything when you take CBD! In fact, you may even want to try using CBD Tincture Full Spectrum Extra Strength 2500 mg CBDistillery.

Bast CBD Flower Review

In effort to spread the good word about some stellar CBD hemp flower we have at Dr.Ganja, we’re doing a little review on one of our recent favorites, Bast; as well as a small walkthrough on what it’s like ordering and receiving a CBD product like this, for those wary first-time buyers.

Bast, a relatively new CBD strain, is named after the Egyptian Goddess of Protection who is often depicted as a cat or with a cat head. This name seems especially fitting, as Bast’s protective nature over body and mind shine through even on the first hit.

Bast Walkthrough & Tips:

Receiving Bast CBD Flower

After browsing the Dr.G site and selecting Bast, I used the coupon code Relax at checkout to get a small discount on my entire order (seriously do this, it works).

I received my package in a taped cardboard box from an innocuous address (your package will not have their name on it for your privacy). No smells detected on first inspection. Upon opening the box, there was still no detectable smell, and double bagged inside was my hemp flower, snugly submerged in some packing peanuts.

Smell out of the box

Slicing through two layers of plastic led me to the buried treasure: Bast flower! Upon being set free, Bast emitted an alluring aroma… like clementine and pinecone. The smell was sweet and a little earthy. Breaking apart the bud threw a mist of pixie dust into the air, with the sweet fruit aroma and cedar notes filling the room.

Appearance

Upon looking her over, Bast is likely more indica than sativa due to the shorter, stocky leaves and dark greens, browns, and purple highlights that cover the nugs. These colors contrast with the bright greens and long, wispy leaves of most sativas creating beautiful looking buds. She is trichrome-covered with amber hairs, and is colorful, frosty, and dense!

Flavor

Bast has a very interesting taste… surprisingly different from its sweet aroma.

Upon vaporization, an incense-like, cinnamon flavor coated the tongue and dissipated slowly into an earthy, woody finish.

Upon introducing flame to Bast, the earthy notes were present, but the pleasant cinnamon-like flavor was almost so subtle as to not be noticed. Definitely recommend vaporizing Bast if you have the option.

Head and body effects

Bast is what is known as a “creeper”, or a strain that slowly gets stronger and stronger as time goes on, even though you’ve already stopped smoking. Thus, it’s strength “creeps” onto you and before you know it, your body has a pleasurable tingling effect and your mind is at peace. In fact, duration is Bast’s forte, as once the effects finally come about, they linger for quite some time; much longer than some of the other CBD flower we carry at Dr.Ganja that hit hard and fast, but fade quickly.

Bast seems to be good for tension and overall pain, as not only was my pounding headache alleviated, but so was the tension that the headache manifested in my neck. These great body effects translate well into her being a superb night-time strain and if the customer reviews on Bast are to be heeded, that is exactly what she’s being used for, to great effect.

What makes Bast so great?

Overall, Bast shines because she is open-minded and persistent: while taking her at night seemed to suggest sleep, consuming her in the early morning gave me mellow energy. Despite the characteristics of the effects, they certainly last for a long time: my first foray with Bast lasted over 2 hours and this is coming from someone who “samples” hemp flower daily. If something like Sour Space Candy can be said to be our instant relief medicine at Dr.G, Bast would definitely be our all-day aid.

You can purchase Bast in 5 different size variants with free shipping on all domestic orders! Check her out here: The Bast Flower

Sour Space Candy CBD Flower Review

5

Continuing our tradition of reviewing the hemp we get in here at Dr. Ganja, today we have a special newcomer: Sour Space Candy CBD Hemp Flower!

I’ve smoked and vaped Sour Space Candy for about a week now to get its true personality. It is to date, the most potent CBD flower I’ve tried. Maybe it’s the perfect ratio of terpenes to CBD, maybe it just rubs my particular endocannabinoid system in the right way. Regardless, she’s a keeper (and she, really is a she too, did you know we consume almost exclusively female plants?)

Presentation/Shipping

My order came in a small cardboard box from an inconspicuous address. It might seem minor, but to me it’s important because I like my privacy. Upon shaking the box à la early Christmas morning, there’s not much sound and it’s impossible to discern what’s inside. A quick sniff or two and all I get is the newspaper-like smell of cardboard.

Opening the box shows packing peanuts and a mylar bag, sealed, and then sealed again, in a translucent plastic bag. There’s also a piece of paper folded at the side.

Testing

That folded piece of paper was the testing. Sour Space Candy comes in at 16.28% CBDA and 1.43% CBD.

Sour Space Candy Quality

The nugs that were shipped were decent size with one of them being pretty massive. This mutant broccoli is covered with large orange-ish/brown hair (the pistils) and gives a nice bounce back when I squeeze it; dense and not dry.

Smell

Sour Space Candy’s name must come from a lot of its smell, and a little bit of its taste. Opening up the bag and taking a whiff made my eyes bulge: a punch in the nose of diesel with something else… a definite sour smell. Pine sole-y.

As I’m grinding it up, the smell comes out even more. It’s nice and reminds me of lemongrass on steroids.

Taste

Combusting Sour Space Candy yields a nice clean flavor. The smoke is undeniably smooth, but the sourness doesn’t come through too strong when you put a flame to it. Vaping Sour Space Candy gives me more of that sourness. The taste coats your mouth, it’s thick.

CBD Effects

After a week long trial of “taking” Sour Space Candy, it seems like vaping /smoking it in the morning or early afternoon gives me a very strong headrush for about 10 minutes and then suddenly eases up and mellows out. Mellows way out. I’ve never experienced a head rush like the one I do with this flower.

Taking it in the night still gave me that blood-rushing-to-your head feeling, but it was very slight and actually, very soothing, I felt calm.

Coming home, smoking Sour Space Candy, and then listening to music became a ritual this week for me. My ears seemed to be more sensitive to music. It was the ultimate stress-reliever.

Overall

Sour Space Candy is strong-smelling and potent. If you react to this flower the same way I do, then this is your kryptonite. If you like your herb to notify everyone within a city block when you light up, this is also your kryptonite. It hits me (and probably you) in all the right spots, my favorite strain to date. Thanks for reading.

Cascade CBD Flower Review

0

Hey again! This is Nate with the Dr.Ganja team, reviewing one of our new CBD flower strains, Cascade!

Shipping/Presentation

As usual the package containing my Dr.Ganja CBD flower was inconspicuous. Inside, other than the packing peanuts and test results, my Cascade CBD hemp flower was double wrapped: first inside a mylar bag and then an additional air-sealed plastic baggy, to ensure privacy and no smell. I opened both the cardboard box and the first air-sealed baggy to see if I could catch a whiff of anything in particular…. nope, nada.

Testing

In my order I received the safety and potency test results of the CBD flower was about to sample, this batch of Cascade came in at 14.39% CBD.

CBD Flower Quality

Cascade hemp flower is long and wispy. The 3.5g product I received contained three good-sized nugs that reminded me of weeping willows. Long, wiry leaves with a wintergreen hue wrapped with orange hairs. Maybe I’m a little weird, but this strain is pretty.

Depending upon the parents (it has to do with whether the parents are dominantly sativa or indica, long, narrow leaves are sativas and thicker, shorter leaves are usually indica), you either get CBD flower that resembles stocky, crystallized broccoli in appearance or, you get a tied-up Christmas tree sans rope. Dr.Ganja Cascade is the latter of the two.

No seeds were to be found among the nugs and the Dr.Ganja CBD flower seemed to be cured properly.

Smell

Cascade CBD Flower isn’t as aromatic as some of the other Dr.Ganja hemp strains and I like that. Sometimes I want to smoke my favorite CBD flower strain when my vape isn’t handy, but the smell of combustion is so skunky that I attract every pair of eyeballs within a 50 foot radius. Cascade is no such beast; rather, the smell is grassy and hay-like. To those who prefer to be more discreet, Dr.Ganja Cascade CBD flower may be your go-to strain.

Smoke/Vapor

Due to the dense nature of Cascade noted above, it burns best once it is thoroughly ground up. A few times I tried to break it apart with my hands to roll a joint and I could not keep the resulting cigarette lit. However, breaking it up well in a grinder seemed to a provide a nice and even smoke.

The odor of the smoke, as expected, is very similar to its “bag smell.” Not as distinct as other strains and this is preferable if you’re on the go.

Taste

If you want to taste the Cascade hemp flower to its fullest, definitely use a vaporizer. The clean taste comes out much better than in a joint.

Effects

I heard that Cascade had a nice sativa-esque, uplifting effect so I smoked some before heading to the gym. Some notes:
Upon finishing my smoke, I was accompanied by a very brief but pleasant headrush. My left arm was bothering me that morning, and after a cup of coffee and a little Cascade, I completely forgot about the pain until later that night. Ended up spending a half an hour longer at the gym than I usually do. Felt very energetic, it was a good day! I find that some CBD strains make me constantly yawn or feel like my body would melt if I could find a sofa, but Cascade doesn’t do this to me. This is the early morning strain I was looking for.

Overall

Cascade CBD Hemp Flower is like the jack of all trades. It doesn’t shine in any particular department, but it smells good, tastes good, and has great uplifting effects. For me, Cascade worked wonders as an early morning strain with the energy and pain-numbing effects. Most of the CBD strains I’ve encountered have a tendency to make me sleepy. This is not one of those, Cascade perks me up.

The unoffensive smell makes Cascade very convenient, and from the many times I’ve smoked it, a splash of cologne and a breath mint later and none were the wiser. For this reason alone I love Cascade.

Pineberry CBD Flower Review

0

Hey there! My name is Nate with Dr. Ganja. Here I am giving my review of a new hemp strain that came in. I’ll cover the Pineberry CBD effects, taste, smell and more to ensure you’re well informed of this wonderful new strain.

Shipping/Presentation

Every Dr. Ganja CBD hemp flower package comes discreetly packaged and emits no smell. The labeling on the box is generic. From the outside, it’s impossible to discern what the box contains; a big plus to those who prefer privacy. Upon opening the box, the mylar bags that contain the actual cbd flower are further air-sealed in a bag. (By the way, shipping is free on all U.S. orders.)

Testing

With every order, Dr. Ganja provides potency, pesticide, and the microbiological cbd lab test results of the cbd hemp flower strain you will soon be enjoying. This should be the industry norm and I’m glad it’s slowly heading that way.

Pineberry Flower Quality

Pineberry CBD flower is pretty sticky. The trichromes, or the little white crystals you see amongst the ocean of green, yellow, and orange, are very evident, especially when looking in direct light. Despite the stickiness of the Pineberry buds, it seems properly cured and upon searching, I couldn’t find a single seed.

Smell

One of my favorite things about Dr.Ganja’s Pineberry is its smell. It’s alluring. I found myself constantly opening and closing the bag to get another whiff of it. There’s a smell of hay, pine, a little diesel… but what really gets me coming back is the scent of lavender. To make sure I wasn’t crazy, I asked for a second opinion:

“Close your eyes and tell me, what do you think it is?”
“I know what it is.”
“Okay, but what does it smell like?”
“Smells like… -sniff sniff- a little like pine trees and lavender tea.”
As it turns out, linalool, the terpene responsible for that lavender smell, is in fact present in this batch of Pineberry (although in low amounts).

Smoke/Vapor

I tried the Pineberry hemp flower both in a joint and in my vaporizer. The smoking/vaping experience is one of Pineberry’s best qualities. The smoke is smooth. I tried smoking it faster to see if it would produce that common throat burn, but it seemed rock steady.

The smoke itself doesn’t give off as skunky an odor as some strains and for me that’s a good thing.

Taste

If you want to get the most out of Pineberry’s taste, you should vape it. The woodiness of combustion has a tendency to diminish the other present flavors, but in the vape they come through much cleaner. There’s hay, pine flavors, and a little sweetness.

Pineberry CBD Effects

I choose to smoke Pineberry both at 8 a.m. in the morning and 8 p.m. at night, to see how the effects differed based upon the time of day and my mental state; the first day in a joint and then the second using a vaporizer. I’m go-go-go in the morning and usually by 7 or 8, ready to start unwinding for the night.

8 a.m.: After smoking about 0.2g of Pineberry following some green tea, I had a nice feeling of calm. It was particularly noticeable because of how I usually am after I wake up: brain on hyperdrive mode in an effort to finish as much as I can before lunch. After smoking Pineberry, I felt focused. Kind of like a cup of coffee without the jitters.

8 p.m.: I consumed the same amount as in the morning. While it could be due to many factors, upon finishing my joint, I walked inside and could not stop yawning. As someone who has a bit of trouble settling into bed, this was very welcome. The strain seems to be good for the mornings and great for the evenings.

In fact, ever since I received my Pineberry buds, it has been my nightcap.

I did the same testing with my vape the next day. Similar effects, although in the morning, I felt even more awake and focused when vaporizing. Very nice. The caveat is that the vape doesn’t produce the same lethargy some people need to sleep as does smoking, but that’s not specific to the strain anyhow.

Overall

If I had to choose which of Pineberry’s qualities I like best, it would be a tough call. On one hand, the smoke is incredibly smooth… on the other, the smell is fresh and enticing, and yet on another (apparently I’ve got 3), the calm that comes over you right after consuming can’t be denied.

I definitely recommend the Pineberry CBD flower for those who tend to be on the more anxious side, as well as those who need a certain something to melt them into bed.

– Kristina Louise

Hey y’all!

With CBD being so popular right now, I figured I would write a quick blog post reviewing some products I recently ordered from the wonderful Dr. Ganja, CBD Marketplace.

First, lets make sure everyone understands the difference between CBD and THC.

  • CBD doesn’t produce a high, while THC will definitely get you high.
  • Medical, health, and wellness users tend to prefer CBD, while recreational consumers tend to favor THC.

It is important to know that both may aid anxiety and pain relief; and can also help fight cancer as well as reduce the risk of diabetes when used properly.

Now that we’re all on the same page and understand the difference; let’s get to the reviews!

CBD For Life Original Rub – Just what the doctor ordered after a nice long yoga sesh. Feels amazing!

Lazarus Naturals CBD High Potency Tincture 750 mg – Not the best tasting, but definitely does is job! I noticed the effects in about 35 minutes and was very pleased.

Infinite CBD Asteroid CBD Isolate Gummies – DELICIOUS! I’ve had my fair share of CBD edibles and these are by far the tastiest ones I have ever tried. Super fruity! Not too chewy… YUM!

Johnny Apple CBD Synergy Sativa Vape Cartridge – I will admit that it doesn’t have the best flavor in the world. But being an avid smoker of the good stuff, this does hold me over on my long drive home until I can smoke and eat. It helps relieve the stress from the day as well as settle my stomach.

CCell M3 Battery with USB Charger – I’ve literally been using this battery for the last two weeks and have yet to recharge it! I’ve gotta say, that is impressive and beats charging everything 4 days for sure!!! It is also a little smaller than most batteries, making it super discreet and very convenient.

Products aside, the customer service I have experienced with Dr.Ganja has been incredible! All of my questions were answered in a timely manner and these guys seem to really know their stuff which definitely makes the buying process that much easier as a consumer!

Don’t believe me, try Dr.Ganja for yourself and use coupon discount code FeistyFit for a little discount when ordering. ENJOY!!!

The Best CBD Products For Anxiety: Find The Option Right For You

0

If you type in “best CBD for anxiety” in your search bar you’ll get countless CBD websites with rehashed information, describing what anxiety is, the different types, common medications, symptoms, etc.

Finally, after reading for 10 minutes you get to more of what you’re looking for; something along the lines of ‘The 10 best CBD products for Anxiety!

Here at Dr.Ganja, we like to get right down to business and list the essentials you need to know about CBD and anxiety because, if you’re searching for CBD to help anxiety, chances are you don’t need to know what anxiety is… you already suffer from it! Furthermore, to list the best products for anxiety is a bit disingenuous because everyone is different, and there is no objective way to measure how effective a product is. With that being said, there are compounds in certain CBD products that may enhance its anxiolytic properties, such as hemp terpenes. Here we’ll briefly talk about the critical aspects of CBD and anxiety (spoiler: the most important thing is bioavailability and therefore, dose).

Dosage

If you’ve read our other article about the science of CBD, you saw that for the few human studies on CBD and anxiety, researchers reported that a 300-600 mg dose of CBD was the optimal range for treating anxiety. If you’re thinking ‘wow that is a huge dose of CBD’, you’re absolutely right. Take note though that this is for people who have genuine anxiety disorders, so if you’re just looking to soothe some stress on a rough day, you may not need such a large dose. Many people report a feeling of calm and peacefulness with a 1/3 or even a 1/6th of that dose (100mg or 50mg, respectively).

If you are brand new to CBD, you should definitely not start with a 300 mg, or even a 100 mg dose. Start small, and if you’re not feeling the changes you desire, then up the dosage in a step-wise fashion. This doesn’t mean that if you take 25 mg on day one and don’t feel much, that the next day you up it to 100 mg. CBD works on your endocannabinoid system and needs time to produce good results. 25 mg is a good starting point, and it should be maintained for a week or two. If you don’t like the results after the first few weeks, then increase it to 50, rinse and repeat. Additionally, CBD serum levels in the body peak about 1-2 hours after ingesting CBD, so again, be patient. CBD works, but it is not the instant gratification that some people claim it is; fixing a problem as complex as anxiety takes time.

Bioavailability

If you are one of those who is looking to help with sincere anxiety, you’re looking at higher doses of CBD. Which brings us to another problem.

Bioavailability. Bioavailability is a measure of how much of a substance actually makes it into your body to take effect. You can swallow, say, 300 mg of CBD, but that doesn’t mean that ALL 300 mg of CBD makes it into your system. Much of it gets broken down or altered before it can do anything.

So then that begs the question, which method of taking CBD has the highest bioavailability? Or to put it simply, which method gives me the most bang for my buck? The short answer: inhalation. The more complex answer that no one wants to hear: it depends. There are three common methods of taking CBD: vaping/smoking (inhalation), sublingual (under the tongue), and oral (swallowing). The intake method with the highest bioavailability is inhalation, followed by sublingual, and then oral. The reason we gave you the stereotypical ‘it depends’ is because with vaping and smoking, it’s incredibly hard to measure out a dose. Certain vape cartridges and vape pens such as the Johnny Apple CBD Zynergy Sativa Vape Cartridge have the total amount of CBD in the cartridge, but you don’t know exactly how much CBD you’re getting each puff, because everyone puffs a bit differently. CBD flower is another beast, because CBD concentrations vary quite a bit, not only from strain to strain, but even within the same plant. What’s more, while smoking/vaping has the quickest onset time and highest bioavailability, it also clears from your system the fastest. Sublingual and oral routes stay in your system much longer, approximately a 4-5 hour increased duration.

So, it depends. Really, it depends on you. Do you want to potentially experience relief faster, but for not as long? Maybe inhalation is your game. Additionally, flower is usually cheaper. Do you not like the act of smoking, and feel more comfortable with “easing into” your dose and having it stick with you throughout the day? Maybe try CBD oils and tinctures. These also have the benefit of more accurate dosing. (Pro-tip: if you are using a CBD oil, let it rest underneath your tongue for a 60 to 90 seconds before you swallow it for better bioavailability).

A quick note on THC/terpenes

THC has been shown to exacerbate anxiety at certain levels, so if you’re looking to ease anxiety, you want high CBD/low THC.

As mentioned before, certain terpenes found in cannabis display anxiolytic properties. These terpenes include: pinene, carophyllene, linalool, and limonene. If you find CBD products enhanced with these terpenes, the anxiety relief should be amplified. Check out our article on terpenes if you want to know more.

Now, we think we’ve given you enough information here to make an informed decision on what CBD product is best for you. Obviously, you want a clean product, low THC, maybe some added terpenes for extra relief, and certainly one that will fulfill your dosing needs. If you’re looking for some Dr.Ganja recommendations, here’s a few:

Inhalation

Elektra CBD Flower – 15.4% CBDA and less than .03% THC. Sticky, fragrant, and easy on the wallet.

Sublingual/Oral

BlueBird Botanicals Hemp Classic 6X CBD Oil – For anxiety sufferers that want a big dose of CBD, but don’t want to smoke. Each dropper-full contains approximately 50 mg of CBD. Non-GMO, pesticide free.

Other

Johnny Apple CBD Calm Terpene Isolate – A loose concentrate product that contains CBD and three terpenes that have been shown to have anti-anxiety properties – linalool, carophyllene, and pinene. You can do what you want with it- cook, dab, smoke.

CBD Helped With My Grief & Depression

0

This is solely an experience version and my opinions only not to be mistaken or confused.

When I Started Using CBD For Grief

I was diagnosed with pstd and with lupus take that and mix it up with losing my brother 11 months ago to suicide. You could only imagine the roller coaster ride I was on. My mother found him and me and my sister came home to our house surrounded by police.

I want to share my experience with coping with grief with the use of CBD (cannabidiol). I refused to take any pills or see a therapist because it was too hard on me personally and trust me I tried but hated the responses from the therapists and I know some can relate to this.

Death is not fun no matter who we lose but death by suicide is a vicious grief cycle and causes severe depression or at least that’s what it did for me. I am not saying everyone can use CBD for grief, but it helped me and my family.

We all tried different ways to cope at first from group counseling to one on one, I even tried anger management. My mom was placed on big pharma xanex for a short period before being switched to a non-addictive version which she stated didn’t help her. My sister was put on an anti-depressant she was trying to take it with no luck, she started getting anxiety attacks. I was dabbing isolate and taking edibles.

How My Family Got Started On CBD

My family wanted to know how I was coping so well. They don’t like marijuana and when I lived in a legal state they hated my “drug” (marijuana) use, which is ok not everyone agrees and that’s fine but it helped me. So when I said it’s the CBD they were very curious but scared because like most people they related it to cannabis.

I didn’t want a beginner or newbie as I call it to try a dab, so instead I let them hit a vape pen with hemp CBD. They tried this vape for a week and I asked them how it made them feel because I wanted to know if they were getting better. They said relaxed and not so horrible. They started feeling better, I was thrilled to hear it and when I mean better well as good as we can be. My mom stopped having her own depressing suicidal thoughts; my sister stopped having anxiety attacks. They shared a gram cartridge over a period of about 2 weeks.

What Cannabidiol Is and Isn’t

It’s not a miracle drug and we will never forget my brother or stop hurting over his death but it has helped us work through it and gain coping skills and without a note or a reason we were left to assume and guess which caused a lot of anger within the family and blame and for something as simple as CBD to calm us all down and work through it as a family rather than against each other mad and wishing we could trade places with my brother.

It has many health benefits I believe it could help others. Grief sucks majorly but so does depression. What if you could take CBD instead of pharma pills to feel better, would you at least try it? Grief is overwhelming and you can experience a handful of emotions with it, you can even repeat the emotions a lot and cannabidiol is known to help many of them.

Moving On From THC

I decided to quit THC and go for just hemp which scared me at first because I liked my THC and I didn’t want to relive the emotions I had when I first lost my brother. After a few weeks, I am not finding myself on the floor crying asking why anymore, I’m calmer and found my smiling again, so I know it helped me.

I use all forms of from tincture to topical to flower that I smoke. When i feel anxiety, anger or sadness coming I take something CBD and my experience has made me believe it helps and works with my grief cycle.

I volunteered with a lot of pstd veterans and wounded warriors and they almost had the same symptoms as my grief cycle due to their experiences in the military and they told me that CBD helped them cope, which is why I started my therapy with it.

I hope this helps others, I know not everything works for everyone but this worked for me and many others so it’s worth a shot. If you want to try a CBD product from Dr.Ganja use coupon code: CBD Queen at checkout.

BeTru Organics all natural CBD pain relief

0

When all-natural pain relief is the goal, BeTru Organics could be the answer.

Three people each suffering from different types of long-term pain came together to form the brand, seeking to educate others about the healing benefits of CBD oil. Now, through CBD spray and CBD pain relief cream, they’re changing the lives of those with chronic pain.

What’s cool about about BeTru products is that they work in tandem with the human endocannabinoid system — a body-brain network of cannabinoid receptors that modulates appetite, mood, memory, and most importantly, pain.

Your endocannabinoid system is triggered naturally by things like exercise, but buying supplements like CBD spray can be an effective tool to boost your body’s overall health, especially ones which are free of parabens, heavy metals, and other toxins.

CBD spray is available here at Dr.Ganja, where we offer both the signature BeTru pain relief cream and the BeTru SOUL Spray. You can buy both of them via our online cbd store.
